Natalie’s Pin Up Girl Tattoo

Yesterday I went with my friend Natalie to get a pin up girl tattoo by Alex Simpson (who is the same guy that did my Arm). I thought this would be a good opportunity to take my camera and get some pictures while she was getting inked as I have never taken any photos like that before. So I took my camera with my 50mm to get some quick snaps. Some of my favourite I have posted below, the full album is on facebook and can be found here.

I also just invested in a Sigma 30mm f/1.4, which I had a little play with, I’ve posted a quick snap I took with my 30mm of my phone, so here is that one too.

At The Ghetto Shed With Ben Cobley

You might remember Ben from a while back when I posted his FATBMX Favourites.
I got asked a while back on twitter by Mark Webb if I wanted to drop an edit of Ben and after knowing he shred’s hard, I was totally up for it.

It took a couple of sessions, mainly because I wanted to make a nice long edit of non-stop clips haha, but also because Ben is a machine and is not scared to do stuff that fucks his body up if he does it wrong.
I’d be lying if I said he didn’t take it hard, but fair play to him to carry on riding and getting some mega bangers while he was still injured!

So here it is, the long awaited Ben Cobley edit, hope you enjoy! 😉

FFWD SIMPEL SESSION EXCLUSIVE

You were warned I was gonna drop this upon you, so here it is.

The FFWD SIMPEL SESSION PHOTO EXCLUSIVE, this is also compiled with a video from JC Pieri, who also put together another edit from Estonia, which can be seen here.

Also, from Estonia, which I havent posted yet, is Mikey’s edit for Ryan Taylor, which can be watched here, which has one of my pictures used as the default still! 🙂
AND IN A COMPLETELY UN-ESTONIA-RELATED NOTE…….but still FFWDBMX related note, check out this LISBON VIDEO that Mike King did, its fucking rad.

That’s all for now, so check out these 4 sweet links I’ve given you and enjoy all the pictures and videos.

Goodbye for now.

Simpel Session 2011

Just got back from Simpel Session 11 in Estonia, and it was sweet, if not better than any other year.
This year a hand full of us went for about a week, and the others went for about 5 days, but however long you go, and however much you drink, its guaranteed to be an occasion to remember.

Obviously, I did take quite a few pictures, of which I have uploaded to facebook, the albums can be found here and here. I haven’t uploaded any riding pictures yet as I am sending them over to Mikey at FFWDBMX. So keep your eyes peeled for that photo feature!!

I have however put together a short edit showing the Simpel Session experience through the eyes of me and a couple of my mates, which is below.

You may have also seen my edit of our times in the hostel, which is posted below this post, so if you haven’t already seen that, take a look at both of them now!!

Enjoy!

Drunken Estonian Hostel Fun

Simpel Session isn’t just about the contest and the parties.

This is a little video I put together documenting time spent in the hostel where we stayed.

Mark Webb’s Ghetto Shed

The other day Bean Can popped up on my facebook chat and asked me what I was doing on the Friday just gone, which I luckily had nothing planned and was off work.
He told me Mark Webb asked if I wanted to go to his warehouse and take some pictures and maybe shoot some footage. I obviously jumped at the chance, so the next day, I headed up to the renounded Ghetto Shed, and basically didn’t know what to expect.
Obviously I had seen it on the edits that have popped up etc, but those ramps do not do justice until you are stood next to them, they are massive.

Anyway, back to the actual taking pictures part of this update……I hadn’t taken pictures with my new camera at all, in fact I hadn’t even taken pictures since before winter, other than the one shot I took of Bruza doing a wallride at the bus station, but that was taken pretty raw and I didn’t set up anything.
So, with this lack of practice in a while, I was a little sceptical to be honest. But the fact I was only there to mess about and have a good time made it a whole lot better. That fact aside, the photo’s were going pretty good to be honest, and everyone were busting out banger after banger, even though they were just having a ‘chilled’ session, if you were there, you wouldn’t believe it.

So I shot a load of photos to get back into the swing of it, then Webbie asked me to get a picture of a walltap (see below), and while I was up on the mini ramp we got some more air shots, a few of which I have posted up.
Then after I took some shots of Ben Cobley, I deceided to get my film on, so I could put together my second edit.

I spent about 6/7 hours of my Friday night there, and it felt good to be back taking photo’s again. Below are a selection of the pictures I took that night, which I felt were the better ones. I dont think I really need to add any explanation to them. Below the photo’s there is my edit of that night that I put together, there is some great technical stuff in there, even though they weren’t expecting to be filmed and were having a relaxed ride.

Have a look at the photo’s and take a wee peek at the video and let me know what you think.

Thanks to Webbie for inviting me to come up and shoot, and cheers to everyone there that night putting up with flashes firing all the time and letting me run around with my camera and filming them ;).

Enjoy!

A New Years Session

I got down the park yesterday for the first time in god knows how long, and even though it was wet, there was still a good session going down.
Because it was wet though, I really didnt see any point in setting up flashes etc., so I thought Id give video a whirl for the first time.

I was thinking of calling this something gay like “My First BMX Edit” or “Attempt One”, but surprisingly enough I decided against it. After a whole ordeal of trying to export the video correctly out of premiere pro, I finally managed to do it with help from Mike King and Chris Wilmshurst.

So here it is…..”My First BMX Edit”, or I decided to call it….”A New Years Session”, as it was done on the 2nd Jan in the new year of 2011. Maybe even decide to watch it in HD!

Thankyou to Hank at POINTTLESS, Keith at MTTD and Mike at FFWD for posting me on their sites!

HAPPY NEW YEAR EVERYONE

FFWDBMX Mike King Interview

On Christmas Eve, this interview of FFWDBMX’s Mike King from Kurt at BMX Union, here is the >>>>>> link to the interview, I was gonna post some videos in this post to go with it, but Kurt seemed to cover all the recent videos that I was thinking of posting…..except one, which if you havent seen, watch it right this instant, then go over to the interview and read and watch it all.

Peace out.

Bus Station

Went to the bus station today, as thats the only place to ride during the snowy winter……….it sucks.

Unfortunately it is very low light there, and I was too cold to set flashes etc up. So I had to use a high ISO, meaning this picture is mega noisy. Which hopefully will be a lot different when I get my new camera, which I ordered yesterday, WOOP 🙂

Not much to say other than the fact its a very noisy picture, but I havent updated anything in a while so I thought I better post something.
